Toronto Restaurant offers Horse Meat on its menu… Hungry Anyone?

La Pallete, a famous Toronto restaurant, is offering its customers a chance to devour a common European delicacy – The Horse Meat. Although widely used in European dishes, horse meat is not very popular among North American diners and hence this move by the restaurant seems to have angered the local public as well as the animal rights activists.

The Toronto Restaurant has been the scene of many protests by animal rights groups, who are completely aghast by the inhumane slaughtering of horses used in the horse meat industry.

La Pallete counter argues that it procures horse meat hygienically and defends its decision saying that the residents of Toronto should get an opportunity to try this unique and exquisite dish.
Incidentally, another Toronto Restaurant, Parts & Labor, also used to offer horse meat on its menu but had to quickly remove its due to unpleasant feedback from customers and activists.
